Dalal Street Week Ahead:
- I could not write the reports for the last two days as I was too busy with some personal work.
- Last week, markets were highly volatile between 7350 and 7600.
- But finally, last Friday Nifty settled around 7490 compared to 7560 the previous Friday, just 1% down.
- So far corporate results were good except few like Bosch, ICICI Bank etc.
- In the first three days of the week, markets were in panic sa both DIIs and FIIs were net sellers in Cash market.
- That changed towards the end of the week, DIIs were net buyers on Thursday and Friday.
- But selling by FIIs continue and that is a big concern now.
- Even on Friday, though markets were up, FIIs have sold for more than Rs 500 crores.
- On Friday, US jobs report came at 151000 gainst the expectation of 190000.
- So US markets fell drastically, Nasdaq fell below 2015 low.
- On Monday, Asian markets are likely to fall following US markets.
- After the market hours, Govt. will release the GDP data.
- On Tuesday, Dr Reddy, PNB, Hindalco and Gail will declare results.
- On Wednesday, Cipla, ACC, Ambuja Cements will declare results.
- On Thursday, SBI, ONGC, Coal India, Tata Motors, Hero Motocorp, BHEL will declare results.
- On Friday, Sun Pharma, M&M, BPCL will declare results.
- After the market hours on Friday, IIP data and CPI Inflation data will be declared.
- One positive thing about next week is that China markets are closed for the whole week due to Chinese New Year.
- Mostly markets take cue form US and China, many times China spoiled the party of bulls.
- Local factors, particularly PSU Banks results, will dominate the markets next week.
- Coming to technicals, Nifty 7400 Put has the highest open interest followed by 7200 Put.
- Nifty 7600 Call has the highest open interest among the Calls followed by 7800.
- Since the Chinese markets are closed for the whole week, there will be no sudden negative news flow from China.
- Hence Nifty is likely to trade between 7200 and 7800.
